Ambassador Shringla gives message of solidarity to Indian community of Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, KY (TIP): On his trip to Louisville, Kentucky on 6 May 2019, India’s Ambassador to the US Harsh V Shringla delivered a message of solidarity to the Indian community when he visited the Shri Maninagar Swaminarayan Temple which had witnessed an incident of vandalism in January 2019. Officials of the Temple showed him the place where vandalism took place. In his address, the envoy gave the message of peace and harmony. 

Earlier, Governor of Kentucky Matt Bevin hosted him. Ambassador’s message of strengthening business and people-to-people ties between India and Kentucky found full resonance from the Governor and other interlocutors.

He also had extensive business engagements with UPS World port, GE Appliances, and Beam Suntory. Ambassador was welcomed at UPS Airlines by President Brendan Canavan. President of USIBC Nisha Biswal was also present. Ambassador  Shringla toured UPS Worldport facility of over 5.2 million sq.ft that handles 4,16,000 parcels per hour. UPS considers India a priority investment area and has a hub in Mumbai with over 1000 employees. He also visited GE Appliance Park and met Kevin Nolan, CEO & Melanie Cook, COO.

Later he attended a USIBC business round table event with Kentucky business leaders, including the President and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. The envoy also interacted with the Directors of the Western Kentucky University and University of Louisville and Indian students in Kentucky.
